Oct 9

Well we made it – we are finally in the same province as Cassie and will meet her tomorrow morning at 9:30 am

Our flight from Hong Kong to Heifi was very smooth- until we landed and realized the camera had jammed up.  Sean is Mr. Photo anyway but I am sure you can only imagine our distress.  Less than 24 hours before gotcha day- Sunday at 5 pm in Heifi is not the best set of circumstances to be looking for a camera L We spoke to Yisha (our CCAI guide) and she said there was a market that we might be able to find something and she would show us where it was after our meeting … then another family told us they had a spare, so we began to relax a bit.  We had a back up camera but it was 35 mm and we want to know we have those pictures tomorrow.

We got checked in and when we came up to our room there was a crib and stroller--- do they think we are getting a baby or something????  The crib looked so empty...

Sean fooled with the camera some more while I unpacked a few things—still no luck.  We went to our meeting and were told when we would get the babies in the morning given our bag of formula and rice cereal and taught how the babies like their bottles here in China.  After the meeting our group decided to go to dinner and then to Lotus Market to help us find a camera and get supplies.  Well we went up to our rooms to get our things and Sean fooled with the camera one more time and – our prayers were answered he was able to un-jam and it is working again- so there will be pictures for you today J

We ate at the hotel in the Brazilian restaurant – it is very similar to Texas de Brazil but much cheaper- it was about $22 US for both Sean and I.  We then walked over to the Lotus market and got quite a few stares – there were 11 of us.  I told Sean if I did not have a complex before this trip I certainly will by the time it is over!

One of the families had one of their bags lost and of course it was the bag with all their baby things.  So when we got back we had a hall party to get her some things she would need for tomorrow.  Joy made us all really awesome Red Thread bracelets, which she gave us tonight at our party.  After we finished up I began unpacking and getting things ready for tomorrow—I think we are as ready as we will ever be

Am going to upload a few photos from today now

Hugs to all Ang and Sean
